Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has received a Huawei DigiTruck mobile digital classroom as part of efforts to enhance digital education and bridge the technology gap among students across the state.

The brief presentation ceremony held at Government House, Katsina, marked another milestone in the state’s drive toward digital inclusion, youth empowerment, and technology-driven learning.

Governor Radda expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that will strengthen digital literacy among students.

“This initiative, including the mobile classroom, internet access, and power supply, is a significant step toward addressing the digital learning needs of our students,” he said.

He assured that the facility would be effectively deployed for the benefit of learners across the state.

“I want to assure you that this mobile classroom will be fully utilised to address the challenges earlier identified, especially in expanding access to digital education,” the Governor stated.

Governor Radda noted that the intervention reflects the outcome of sustained engagement with the company.

“We are proud to note that this is among the very few mobile digital classrooms in the country today, and it is a result of our visit to your organisation last year,” he added.

He emphasized the need to scale up such initiatives to meet growing demand.

“We recognise that one mobile classroom cannot fully address the existing challenges, but it has set a strong foundation for expansion across the state,” he said.

The Governor appreciated the company and all contributors for their support and commitment to education development.

“We sincerely appreciate this partnership and all those who contributed to making this initiative a reality for Katsina State,” he noted.

He particularly acknowledged the role of key individuals in facilitating the intervention.

“I must commend Engineer Bugaje, a proud son of Katsina, and the entire team for fulfilling their commitment and bringing this project to fruition,” he said.

Governor Radda urged students to maximise the opportunity provided by the facility.

“I encourage our students to take full advantage of this platform to acquire the digital knowledge and skills needed for their future,” he advised.

Earlier, Engr. Aliyu Isah Bugaje described the donation as a reflection of strong collaboration between Huawei and Katsina State.

He said the initiative demonstrates a shared commitment to advancing digital education and empowering young people through technology.

According to him, the DigiTruck mobile classroom represents a practical solution to bridging the digital divide, especially in underserved communities.

He added that the intervention will contribute significantly to building local capacity and equipping students with relevant skills for the modern world.

Engr. Bugaje reaffirmed his commitment, as an indigene of the state, to continue supporting initiatives that promote development and innovation.

Also speaking, the Director-General of the Katsina State Directorate of ICT (KATDICT) Mr Naufal described the mobile digital classroom as a critical response to the growing demand for digital literacy.

He noted that the shift toward computer-based learning and examinations makes such interventions necessary.

According to him, many schools currently lack adequate digital infrastructure, particularly in rural areas.

He explained that the mobile classroom is designed to move across communities, providing equal learning opportunities for students regardless of location.

The DG added that the initiative will enhance access to digital tools, improve learning outcomes, and prepare students for a technology-driven future.

The event was attended by representatives of Huawei Technologies, senior government officials, and other key stakeholders in the education and ICT sectors.
