The Katsina State Police Command has arrested a suspected notorious drug dealer and recovered 1,220 illicit drugs, along with cash suspected to be proceeds of crime.
The Command’s spokesman,DSP Abubakar Aliyu confirmed the development in a statement,
According to him, on July 23, 2026, at about 1.45 p.m, based on credible intelligence, operatives attached to the Rimi Divisional Police Headquarters, while on routine patrol along Tsagero Road, intercepted and arrested one Muhammad Lawal, ‘m’, aged 30 years.
In the course of investigation, a thorough search was conducted on the suspect, leading to the recovery of the following exhibits: 1,000 tablets of Exol-5;
- 200 tablets of D-5;10 packets of Pregabalin;
10 packets of Tramadol
Cash sum of ₦128,800, suspected to be proceeds from the illicit drug trade.
The Command’s spokesman added that during interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime and admitted to being actively involved in the sale and distribution of illicit drugs within Rimi LGA and its environs.
Aliyu added ” The suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
” The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, Ali Umar Fage, , commended the officers for their vigilance and reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drug abuse and related criminality across the state.
” He further urged members of the public to remain security-conscious and continue sharing timely, actionable information to help maintain law and order.”
