Katsina monarch kick – starts Peace Foundation

. . .Unfolds packages for less privileged, lifts 17,000 with food, others

Inspired by his commitment to continually add value to lives of Nigerians, the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, once again upheld his corporate and religious philosophy with a Peace Foundation to assist the less privileged.

The royal father kicked off the humanitarian services of the foundation in his palace, saying the initiative is expected to bring succour to thousands in the emirate, Katsina State and the nation.

Alhaji Kabir Usman, who spoke during the distribution of food and other items to representatives of no fewer than 17,000 beneficiaries to launch the foundation, revealed that his worries over the challenges of vulnerable persons in the society could keep him awake for a week at times.

“Nigerians challenges have disturbed me to the extent that I found it difficult to sleep for three to seven days at times. In fact. I won’t be wrong to attribute my recent health predicament to the problem,” he lamented.

The Chairman, Board of Trustees of the foundation and Sixth Wazirin Katsina, Sen. Ibrahim Ida, who unveiled the objectives of the foundation and  its implementation strategy, further revealed that the monarch would support government’s efforts to address the lingering insurgency in parts of the state and the country.

Sen. Ida expressed the commitment of the foundation to assist victims of insurgency, orphans and others in critical conditions with material and medical support.

According to him, the foundation would also support Vasco Virginal Fistula (VVF) patients, victims of drug addiction, mental patients and empower youths with skills to be self reliant.

He lauded the foresight of the traditional ruler to support the needy within and outside the state, adding that the gesture is second to none in the country.
