. . .Says duo have achieved so much in the state

Virtually every out going military or civilian governor of Katsina State pays valedictory visit to the Emir of Katsina for his complementary role in piloting the affairs of the state.

But this year, the royal father, Alhaji Abdulmunin Kabir Usman added a variety to the occasion as he presented awards to Governor Aminu Bello Masari and his deputy, Mannie Yakubu, for outstanding performance in repositioning the state for greatness.

For the monarch and his emirate council, the duo of Masari and Yakubu had so much distinguished themselves that they deserved the honours, saying they achieved so much in the socio – political and economic spheres of the state.

Responding, Gov Masari thanked the royal father for the awards and  acknowledged the contributions of Katsina Emirate Council towards ensuring the success of his administration in the last eight years. 

Katsina Mirror recalls that the farewell visit is part of the Inauguration activities ahead of the handing over of the mantle of leadership to the incoming state government on May 29, 2023.

Gov Masari also explained that the emirate played a significant role towards the success of the state government policies and programmes aimed at improving the well-being of people in the state. 

To buttress this, Masari thanked the emir for his tremendous support and cooperation given to the current administration through meaningful advice and suggestions on the way forward. 

The governor then maintained that katsina Emirate played a major role in complementing government efforts towards enhancing Security for peace and stability across the state. 

On efforts to bring further succour to the people of the state, he said the state government’s Committee had conducted census and identified the orphans and widows affected by banditry and insurgency in the state. 

Gov Masari said the education of the identified orphans would be shouldered by the state government while the identified widows would under go various skills acquisition trainings to be self reliant. 

The governor added that his administration had established Zakkat and Waqaf commission to promote charitable activities and humanitarian services among people as recommended by Islam. 

On the relevance of education and unity among people of the state to promote more innovations for proper harnessing of the available resources in the state, Masari solicited for more support and cooperation from Katsina Emirate to his successor, Dr Dikko Umar Radda, to move the state to greater heights.
