*As Gov Radda proclaims special pray day in Katsina

Katsina State on Thursday held special prayers for peace and harmony in the state, Nigeria and ECOWAS with a message from President Ahmed Tinubu that everyone should pray for the peaceful coexistence between Nigeria and Niger Republic, across the region and globally.

This message was re – echoed by Gov Dikko Umar Radda in the state when he told the huge crowd at the Peoples Square Katsina that peace remained imperative to bring development to the state and the country – Nigeria.

While formally proclaiming the special prayers, Radda said: “We want to pray to Almighty Allah to bring peace to our state and nation in general. We are also praying to Almighty Allah to bring peace between these very friendly nations (Nigeria and Niger) so that we will resolve the issues arising from the crisis in Niger Republic amicably without firing a gun.

“We are calling on everyone that is here to go back home with this message from the President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.”

Katsina State, he said, is committed to spending all its resources to bring peace  and harmony to the state, adding that Federal Government under the leadership of Aswaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is rolling out plans to mitigate the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy generally on Nigerians.

He advised: “We want you to join us in praying for our leaders, for the peaceful coexistence in our state and our country in general.

“We need the cooperation of each and every member of the public to ensure information is provided to us so that we can fish out the bandits and criminals within us in the society.”

Gov Radda also assured  the readiness of the state government to provide palliatives of different items to the public for free through committees in place to ensure that those in dire need of the palliatives would benefit from them.

Dignitaries that attended the session included the State Deputy Governor, Faruk Umar Jobe; the Speaker of State House of Assembly; members of the State Executive Council; local government chairmen; representatives of the Emirs of Katsina and Daura respectively; religious leaders and district heads across the state.
