The katsina state working committee of All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed five million naira as fee for nomination form for those to contest for the seat of local government chairman in the state under the party’s umbrella.
The State Deputy Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa confirmed this while briefing newsmen after a meeting of the working committee, and other state executive as well as chairmen and secretaries of the party in the 34 local government Areas of the state.
The meeting was held at the Presidential banquet hall Government house, Katsina.
He said those contesting for the seats of councillors on the other hand, would pay one point five million naira .
Musawa maintained that all the money for the forms would be paid directly into the account of the party.
He however said sales of the forms would commence on the first to the fourth of May this year, adding that all contestants are to return the completed forms to SIEC on Thursday the nineth of May.
The APC Deputy Chairman who quoted some provisions in the election time table issued by the SIEC, said primary elections for the council chairmen comes up on Saturday the eighteenth of May while that of councillors followed on Wednesday.
He said the final list of the candidates emerged after the primaries would be submitted to the state electoral commission on Monday the twentieth of the same month.
Musawa appealed to the contestants to adhere to the guidelines particularly in respect of electioneering campaigns.
