Members of  Katsina State Security Watch Corps have rescued five victims after gun duel with bandits in Batsari local government area of the state. 

The Corps succeeded in rescuing some five members of a Family in Bugaji Village of the area.

Receiving the rescued victims, the Katsina State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs Dr Nasiru Danmusa said this is part of several other successes recorded by the Security Watch Corps since it’s establishment.

The Commissioner recalled that members of the Security Watch Corps were also at alert and ready to fight all forms of  Criminals and Criminality in all parts of the State as directed by Governor Dikko  Radda.

He assured the rescued victims and all other people of the State that Governor Radda’s administration was strongly committed to making Katsina State free of banditry and other related  crimes.

The Commissioner later gave monetary  assistance  to the rescued victims and urged them to pray for the success of the present Government especially in it’s fight against banditry and kidnapping.

Earlier, the Batsari Local Government Commander of the Security Watch Corps,  M.B Sule narrated how his men were able to rescue the victims following a serious gun battle with the criminal elements in Batsari forest forest.

He said the kidnappers ran away with several injuries leaving behind their victims who were later rescued by the Security Watch Corps.

A victim, Malama Asma’u Abubakar narrated their ordeals, explaining that the bandits killed their father and kidnapped his two wives and three children who were later rescued by members of  the Security Watch Corps.

She thanked Katsina State Government for its commitment  to the security sector.
