Katsina police arrest 175 suspects in one month

The Katsina State police command arrested no fewer than  One hundred and seventy five (175) suspects  for various offenses last month( May).
 
The command’s spokesman,DSP Aliyu Abubakar made the disclosure in Katsina  at a press briefing on behalf of the state police commissioner, Bello Shehu.

According  to him, those arrested included  Fifteen(15) suspects in connection with a case of armed robbery; One (1) suspect  in connection with a case of kidnapping; twenty (20) suspects in connection with a case of murder/culpable homicide;
 One (1) suspect  for unlawful possession of a firearm, and
 Thirty (30) suspects  in connection with  rape.

He also revealed that 
One hundred and eight (108) suspects were arrested in connection with other offences not mentioned above.

Aliyu added” The command under the able leadership of CP Bello Shehu, psc, fdc, MNIM, has employed several strategies while working tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of lives and property in the state, thus yielding the  results.”

The Command’s spokesman also revealed the exhibits recovered during the period.

According to him, the exhibits included ” 
One (1) locally fabricated AK49 ; One (1) locally Made Revolver pistol; Five Hundred and Six (506) 7.62mm live rounds of ammunition and Two (7) suspected stolen motorcycles.

He further revealed that 174 suspected rustled animals were  recovered during the period while 73 kidnapped victims were rescued.

The command’s spokesman declared “These achievements would not have been possible without the support of the Katsina State Government and the good people of the state. We appreciate their support, collaboration and assistance in our crime-fighting efforts to maintain law and order.

“However, we solicit for more support and cooperation from the members of the public to enable us to further improve on these successes.
