The Adamawa State Interim Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has welcomed the Court of Appeal judgement nullifying the National Caretaker Committee of the party, while upholding earlier rulings that validated the suspension of Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), Sam Anyanwu, and others.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Interim Caretaker Committee Chairman of the PDP in Adamawa State, Stephen Heluwa, the committee described the ruling as a landmark victory for the rule of law, internal party democracy, and the supremacy of the PDP Constitution.

According to the statement, the appellate court’s decision reaffirms that discipline and adherence to party rules remain the bedrock of constitutional democracy.

It also said the judgement validates the earlier decision of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) to suspend the affected officers.

“With this judicial pronouncement, which aligns with the Supreme Court’s earlier position, every remaining shred of legitimacy to which these individuals laid claim has been permanently invalidated,” the statement read.

The Adamawa PDP further declared that Ajibade, Anyanwu, and their associates no longer hold any official capacity within the party, adding that any actions, statements, or representations made by them under the guise of party leadership are “illegal, null, and void.”

The committee described the development as the end of what it called “the era of manufactured factionalism and distractions,” insisting that the judiciary has spoken clearly, leaving no room for ambiguity.

“This judgement is not just a win for Dr Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN) and the 13-man Interim National Working Committee (INWC), but a triumph for every member who believes that institutions are bigger than individuals. We are a party built on laws, not egos,” the statement added.

The Adamawa PDP urged loyal, committed, and law-abiding party members, stakeholders, and the general public to recognise and align with the legally recognised leadership led by Dr Turaki.

The committee also called on aggrieved members to lay down their grievances, respect the rule of law, and return to the party fold.

With what it described as legal clarity now established, the party said its focus would shift entirely towards building a united front ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We are ready to meet the electorate in order to liberate our dear nation,” the statement concluded.
