Operatives of the Katsina State Police Command have foiled bandits’ attack on Sabon Guibi village, Musawa Local Government Area of the State.
The operatives killed one bandit, recovered one AK 47 rifle and an operational motorcycle during the attack.
The spokesman for the Command, DSP Abubakar Aliyu confirmed the development.
His words” On July 29, 2026, at about 5:00 PM, a distress call was received at the Musawa Division that a gang of armed bandits, wielding dangerous weapons, had invaded Sabon Gulbi Village.
” Upon receipt of the information, the DPO, Musawa, swiftly led a joint tactical team comprising Police operatives and personnel of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC) to the scene.
” On arrival at the scene, the team engaged the armed bandits in a heavy gun duel, successfully repelling the attack.
“During the encounter, one bandit was neutralized, while several others fled the scene with varying degrees of gunshot injuries.
” Following a thorough sweep of the area, the following items were successfully recovered:
One (1) AK-47 Rifle;
One (1) ammunition magazine containing five (5) live rounds and One (1) Operational Motorcycle
” Efforts are being intensified to track and arrest the fleeing suspects.”
The State Commissioner of Police, Ali Umar Fage commended the gallantry, courage, and synergy exhibited by the operatives, as he equally lauded the timely intelligence that enabled a swift and decisive response.
The CP further reassured the good people of the State of the Command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He urged the public to remain vigilant and quickly report suspicious activities to the nearest division.
