Radda To Complete Danja Dam, if elected

Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, Katsina State All Progressive Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Candidate, has pledged to complete the  construction of Danja earth dam project, if elected.

The APC flag bearer made the commitment at a campaign rally in Ɗanja, during his campaign tour of the local government area. 

According to a press release  by Ahmed Abulkadir, Director, Media and Publicity, of the Katsina APC Campaign Council, Contract for the construction of the earth dam was awarded in 2018 at the cost of more than seven billion naira, with a completion period of 24 months. 

The work could not be completed due to lack of mobilization of adequate manpower, especially professionals, lack of adequate Earth moving equipment, unfavorable weather conditions and the Covid-19 pandemic. 

The project, under contractor / financier arrangement, includes a 13 kilometer access road linking Ɗanja to the dam site and passing through to Gozaki in the neighboring Kafur local government area.

People in the area have been yearning for the project for the past two decades to boost irrigation and agriculture. 

Dr. Radda promised to assist them boost farming through modern farming methods, noting that they were known for large scale tomato farming. 

Earlier, the Katsina State APC Gubernatorial Candidate had paid a sympathy visit to the victims of fire incident at Funtua market. Properties worth millions of naira were lost in the inferno. 

He donated five million naira to the traders who suffered loss in the unfortunate incident. 

He was accompanied during the tour by his running mate, Faruk Lawal Joɓe, the Director-General, Katsina State APC Campaign Council, Arch. Ahmed Musa Ɗangiwa, the Commissioner of Water Resources, Musa Adamu Funtua and his health counterpart, Engr. Yakubu Nuhu, among others.
