Varsity in Funtua zone paramount, says Kabir Daudawa

Reprieve may finally come to the people of Katsina South Senatorial District, otherwise known as Funtua zone, as a key stakeholder in the district, Kabir Maiwada Daudawa, makes a strong case for a university or its equivalent in the zone to ease access of the people to higher education.

Speaking on behalf of some leaders of thought in the geopolitical zone in Faskari recently, Daudawa, former chairman of the Katsina chapter of the peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said the importance of such an institution to the growth and development of the zone could not be overemphasized.

He was optimistic that the gubernatorial candidate of the opposition party in the state would not snub the growing yearning in the zone, saying they were deeply pained by the fact that the fortunes of the zone and the state had not changed much in the past eight years of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

He assured of their determination to rally support for the governorship party’s flag bearer and others to lead not only the zone but the state out of doldrums and called on the candidates to give maximum support to agriculture and education to alleviate unemployment and poverty among the people, if voted into power.

Addressing the supporters of the PDP, its governorship candidate, Sen. Yakubu Lado, promised to do everything possible to address challenges facing the area and the state, if elected.

He revealed that the party aimed at boosting the socio – economic development of the state to enhance the well being of its people.

The governorship hopeful equally pledged to establish industrial agro processing plants and restore infrastructural projects and basic amenities provided by the  previous PDP administrations while carrying out new ones to make life more meaningful to the residents of the state, if given the mandate.
