Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, has sacked his commissioner for works, two permanent secretaries and a board chairman from his administration over alleged anti-party activities ahead of last Saturday’s general elections.

The affected commissioner, Hon. Tasiu Dahiru Dandagoro, was hitherto believed to be staunch loyalists of the governor just as the others: Aminu Waziri, permanent secretary in the ministry of agriculture; his counterpart in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Fatima Ahmed, and Yusuf Barmo, chairman of the state pilgrims welfare board.

A terse statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), Muntari Lawal, on Monday afternoon confirmed the immediate termination of the appointments of the government officials by the governor.

The statement attributed Masari’s action to the need “to make some strategic realignment and adjustment” in the government of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.
