In line with the urban renewal plan of Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, to create a new Katsina City and eliminate traffic gridlock in the city, the new N4.3bn  GRA intersection flyover bridge in the state capital is to be commissioned on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, not May 15, as inadvertently reported.

The flyover is an addition to the N5.8bn underpass bridges at Kofar Kwaya and Kofar Kaura in the city which were commissioned by President Muhammad Buhari in early February this year.

Katsina Mirror checks revealed that the commissioning of the flyover bridge is part of the activities to mark the inauguration of the incoming state governor, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda.

The inauguration calendar released by the office of the Secretary to the Government of the State showed that the epoch – making events included Gov Masari visit to the Emir of Katsina and his Daura counterpart, special dinner to be organized by friends of organized labour in the state and farewell meetings with Islamic and Christian leaders respectively.

Also, an extraordinary state executive council meeting / valedictory session comes up on Wednesday, 24th May, followed by Masari’s farewell meeting with Katsina stakeholders and media parley.

A banquet night and presentation of Gov  Masari’s eight year scorecard will move the inaugural events to climax billed for May 29, 2023.

An elated resident of Katsina, Mallam Saminu Kofar Bai, in an interview with Katsina Mirror, said the Katsina urban renewal projects are a testament to Gov Masari’s desire to create a new Katsina City.
