Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Radda, has expressed deep sympathy to the people of Dangamau community in Kusada Local Government Area following the windstorm and heavy rainfall that destroyed homes and livelihoods during the week.
Governor Radda described the incident that displaced not less than 200 house, shops and properties as painful and unfortunate, noting that the loss of shelter and property has brought hardship to families in the community.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Katsina State, I commiserate with the victims of this disaster in Dangamau. We feel your pain and we will not leave you alone at this time,” the Governor said.
The Governor has directed relevant agencies to move quickly and assess the extent of the damage. He assured that the State Government is already working to provide immediate relief materials and support to affected households.
“Efforts are in top gear to bring succour to the displaced persons. Food, shelter and other basic needs will be provided without delay,” he added.
Governor Radda also urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with emergency teams on ground as government works to restore normalcy in the area.
He prayed for the safety of all residents and for Allah to avert a recurrence of such incidents.
Meanwhile, the Katsina’s Model Special Secondary School in Jikamshi is near completion.
The construction of the Model Special Secondary School, Jikamshi, in Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, has reached an advanced stage, marking another significant milestone in the Katsina State Government’s commitment to expanding access to quality education and improving learning infrastructure.
The project is one of three flagship Model Special Secondary Schools initiated by the administration of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda,with one school strategically located in each of the state’s three senatorial zones to promote equitable access to modern educational facilities.
The three schools are:.Model Special Secondary School, Radda, Charanchi Local Government Area (Katsina Zone), which has already been completed and commissioned by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda; Model Special Secondary School, Dumurkur, Mai’adua Local Government Area (Daura Zone), currently at the final stage of construction; Model Special Secondary School, Jikamshi, Musawa Local Government Area (Funtua Zone), which is also nearing completion.
The ongoing projects at Jikamshi and Dumurkur are progressing steadily and are expected to be completed in the near future.
Upon completion, the schools will provide a conducive teaching and learning environment equipped with modern facilities designed to enhance academic excellence and support the state’s education reform agenda.
The establishment of the three Model Special Secondary Schools underscores the Radda administration’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the education sector through strategic investments in infrastructure, with the aim of providing students across Katsina State with access to world-class learning facilities.
The State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education , Yusuf Sulaiman Jibia made it clear that very soon the two Model Special Secondary schools are going to be commissioned by Governor Dikko Radda.
