Gov’s aide Saturday led over 18,000 to PDP

Lado re – echoes vow to transform state

The Special Assistant to Governor Masari on Political Affairs and former member of the Katsina House of Assembly, Hon. Murtala Aliyu, on Saturday joined the growing number of the governor’s aides that have resigned and defected from ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Director General of the Katsina PDP Campaign Council, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa, who opened the flood gate of defection ahead of last year’s primary of the APC, also received Hon. Ado and over 18,000 members of the APC and other political parties into the PDP campaign rally in Kaita.

Addressing the rally, the Katsina PDP governorship candidate, Sen. Yakubu Lado, promised to implement different empowerment programmes and initiatives, particularly for youths and women, to transform the state, if elected governor.

This focus, he said, is predicted on the fact that the segment constitute the largest and the worst hit in the state that are yet to be adequately enabled to contribute their quota in building a new Katsina State.

He assured that his PDP government, if given the mandate, would take intentional, purposeful and focused measures aimed at building a prosperous state and its people.

Earlier, Hon. Murtala Ado attributed his resignation and defection to PDP  from APC to inability of the ruling party to fulfill its promise to better the lot of his people and others in the state.
