President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Aisha, have cast their votes in this Presidential and National Assembly elections in Daura, Katsina State.
The first couple arrived at the Kofar Barau 003 Gidan Niyam polling unit, Sarkin Yara “A” Ward, Daura, by 9.56am accompanied by some children and aides for the electoral process within 10 minutes.
Buhari and Aisha, who displayed their thumb printed ballot papers before casting them into the respective ballot boxes, predicted that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) would emerge victorious in the elections.
Speaking with journalists at the polling station, Buhari also expressed confidence that the elections would be transparent, adding that Electoral Act has eradicated the possibilities of electoral malpractices.
Checks revealed that as at the time of filing in this report, voting was in progress in all polling units visited by our correspondent.
