Sen. Yar’ adua assures deep commitment, succour for flood victims

Law maker representing Katsina Central Senatorial District, Sen. Abdul’aziz Musa Yar’ adua, has paid a visit to sections worst hit by the recent flood disaster in the Katsina State capital and declared a deep commitment to bring succour to the victims. 

Yar’ adua gave the assurance while

commiserating with victims affected by the flooding at Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters in Katsina metropolis.

The senator, who paid house – to -house visit to sympathise with the victims, expressed shock over the level of destruction wreaked by the flood.

Accompanied by the Councillor representing Wakilin Kudu 3, Abdullahi Yusuf, who doubled as the representative Katsina Local Council Chairman, Aminu Ashiru, 

Senator Yar’adua also visited the families that lost their children to the flood.

A community leader in the area, Alhaji Sani Nayalli, in his remarks, expressed their gratitude to Yar’ adua and hailed  the senator’s visit as part of the footprint of his (Yar’ adua’s) lineage.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Alhaji Nayalli described the visit as the first time in history for a serving senator to visit either to commiserate or sympathise with them.

He stressed their pledged to reciprocate the senator’s gesture by supporting his policies and programmes for the constituents.

On his part, the Ward Head of Sabuwar Unguwa registered his appreciation for the visit and prayed for the successes of Yar’ adua in all his endeavours.

Later, Senator expressed his willingness to assist the victims of the recent flood disaster  and directed the councillor representing the ward and the ward head to make a fresh list of all the victims and the nature of losses they suffered for onward assistance.

Senator  Yar’adua also paid a similar visit to Kerau and Kofar Sauri Quarters where he prayed for the repose of the souls of the affected victims.

The senator was accompanied to the communities by Alhaji Tanimu Garba Gwarjo, Alhaji Ahmad Bello Charanchi, Alhaji Umaru AK and Alhaji Dahiru Abu Darma among others.
