Katsina hands over N2.7bn to contractors for World Bank-assisted projects

The process of transformation of education in Katsina State has began with the release of over N2.7 billion for the construction of 75  secondary schools across the state.

Disclosing this yesterday, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, said the Adolescent Girls Education project supported by the World Bank aims to enhance secondary education opportunities for the girls in the state.

“Towards fulfilling some of his campaign pledges on education, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the release of ₦2.737,603 billion for the construction of 75 junior and secondary schools,” he stated.

He also indicated that the amount represented 20 percent initial advance payment to the contractors, adding that  the contractors are bound to complete the entire project within 12 months. 

“Without a doubt, this capital project will significantly boost education in Katsina State,”  Mohammed quoted the governor as saying.
