Kabir Sabuwar Kasa, a kinsman of Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State, on Friday, dismissed insinuations that the state will remain in the grip of the All Progressive Congress (APC) beyond 2023.

He insisted that they were bitter over their choice of the APC in the past elections and were tired of keeping faith with the party in the face of the failure of its government to tackle the insecurity and other challenges confronting the people.

Speaking on behalf of members of the APC who defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the latter’s campaign rally in Masari, Kafur Local Government Area of the state, Kabiru used the platform to declare the clamour of many Masari’s constituents for improve socio – economic well being by switching their support to the opposition party.

He condemned the insecurity that led to loss of no fewer than nine lives and valuable property in his family to armed banditry and called on electorate to vote for PDP that had promised to be more decisive in the handling of security matters across the country.

He decried the response of political leaders of the area to their ordeals as insensitive, saying they have lost most of their means of livelihood without succour from leaders or party that had been enjoying their mandate.

Kabir insisted that they should be congratulated for leaving APC  for PDP because of the sufferings they had endured so far.

In the same vein, the Director General of the Katsina PDP Campaign Council, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa, said the solution to the difficult conditions of most Nigerians is for them to collect their voters’ cards and end the challenges making their lives miserable in the forthcoming polls.

Reacting to the defection, Sen. Umar Ibrahim Tsauri, the chairman of the campaign council, who also spoke on the occasion, urged people of the state to close ranks and vote for PDP, saying a vote for the opposition party is a vote for food security, protection of lives and property, infrastructure and human capital development.

Earlier, the State PDP Chairman, Lawal Magaji Danbachi, noted that it was compulsory for all eligible voters to collect their PVCs and vote wisely, stressing that it’s time to end the rule of poverty, insecurity and despondency in the state and nation.

“You owe it an inalienable duty to vote out PDP. Mobilize your relatives and friends to vote for only PDP where lies solutions to the numerous crises in Nigeria,” said Danbachi.
